About Dino

Dino Fernandez is a speech-language pathologist who works with children at Little Angels PPEC on communication, feeding, and swallowing. He is also Clinical Director of Apple Patch Therapy, a pediatric speech therapy practice in Orlando.

Speech-language therapy at a PPEC center covers more than talking. For medically complex children it often begins with the mouth itself — oral motor strength, tolerating tastes and textures, and the stages of a safe swallow — which is why speech therapy and feeding goals are so closely linked for children who are tube-fed or transitioning to oral feeding. From there it moves to understanding language and finding a way to be understood, whether that is spoken words or another means of communication.

Because therapy at Little Angels happens in the same building as skilled nursing, Dino works alongside the nursing team and our physical and occupational therapists on the same children, on the same days.

His approach, in his own words: “Practice makes perfect.”
